Create your first pay stub

Creating a pay stub takes about three minutes. Here's the full process.
1. Enter employer details
Add the company name, address, and (optionally) logo. These details are saved to your address book so you don't have to retype them next time.
2. Add the employee
Enter the employee or contractor's name, address, and pay type (hourly or salary). Choose their work state — this drives the tax calculation.
3. Set the pay period and earnings
- Choose the pay frequency (weekly, biweekly, semimonthly, monthly).
- Set the pay period and pay date.
- Enter hours and rate, or the salary amount.
- Add any overtime, bonuses, or commissions.
4. Review deductions and taxes
OakPaystubs automatically calculates federal income tax, Social Security, Medicare, and any applicable state tax. You can also add pre-tax benefits like health insurance or retirement contributions.
5. Preview and download

Tip: Double-check the work state and pay date before downloading — they affect the tax math and the year-to-date totals.
